Long-Term Corrosion Resistance

In everyday use, fiberglass flat sheets offer superior corrosion resistance compared to metal panels. The metal sheets you use are prone to corrosion, thinning or perforation and rusting in chemical environments. In your chemical plant, FRP panels (fiberglass sheets) have a service life of approximately 10 to 25 years, reducing maintenance costs by up to 70%. In contrast, metal sheets typically last only 0.1 to 2 years, requiring frequent replacement and causing production downtime.

Fiberglass-flat-sheets-with-Waterproof

Fiberglass Flat Sheets with Waterproof

Our custom-made fiberglass flat panels feature a smooth, non-porous surface. With a water absorption rate of just 0.1%.In contrast, the metal sheets you currently use rely heavily on waterproof coatings and are prone to rust, whilst timber is susceptible to rot due to its high water absorption rate; Fiberglass flat panels offer significant advantages in both respects. By using fiberglass flat panels, you not only protect against damp and mould, but also ensure trouble-free performance even in cold conditions, thereby avoiding maintenance issues down the line.

Lightweight and High-Strength

During the manufacturing process, we use high-quality epoxy or unsaturated resins and precisely control the glass fiber content. We utilise continuous glass fiber mats and woven fabrics, employing a layered design and continuous production process. The fiberglass flat sheets you purchase are capable of withstanding forces from multiple directions and dispersing concentrated stresses, with a strength far exceeding that of PVC or ordinary plastics. Furthermore, we employ a roller-pressing process to ensure the resin fully impregnates the fibreglass, followed by curing in a high-pressure oven at 160°C to guarantee complete curing. This process achieves a strength that exceeds the requirements of certain metal applications whilst maintaining low density and lightweight properties.

What are fiberglass flat panels? Why are they so widely used?

fiberglass flat sheets (FRP panels) are a type of high-strength, lightweight composite material known for their corrosion resistance, durability, and smooth, easy-to-clean surface. fiberglass sheets are widely used in industrial plants, transport, food processing facilities and the cold chain. Traditional materials cannot adequately meet your needs, so fiberglass flat sheets are gradually gaining market share.

What is your order delivery cycle? Is the delivery time consistent?

For standard orders, we can typically arrange delivery within 15 days. Customised orders generally take around 3–4 weeks to deliver. We operate 8 production lines, with a monthly production capacity of 800,000 square metres. Once your standard order is confirmed, we will draw up a production plan within 1–2 days, commence production within 3–10 days, and arrange delivery within 14–15 days. The entire production process can be monitored remotely via video.

What are the advantages of FRP panels compared to steel and aluminium sheets?

Fiberglass flat sheets offer several advantages over traditional steel and aluminium sheets, particularly in terms of corrosion resistance, lightweight construction and durability. fiberglass flat sheets typically have a lifespan of 15–25 years in corrosive environments, whilst coated steel generally lasts 3–10 years (depending on maintenance). A lightweight truck body constructed with FRP panels can reduce fuel consumption by 10–15%.

Are fiberglass flat sheets suitable for the harsh industrial environment of your factory?

Yes, fiberglass sheets (FRP panels) are specifically designed to withstand harsh environments and can be used in humid, chemically aggressive, and heavy-duty industrial settings. Compared to steel, they do not rust or deteriorate quickly; compared to wood, they do not rot easily; and compared to aluminium, they are relatively harder.

What surface treatment processes can be applied to your fiberglass sheets (FRP panels)?

Our factory can provide you with a variety of surface options for FRP panels and fiberglass sheets, such as smooth, matte, textured (orange peel texture), non-slip, and gel-coated finishes. In addition, you can choose your preferred colour or various transparent shades.

Are your FRP panels and fiberglass sheets easy to install? Is there an after-sales service?

Yes, fiberglass sheets are lightweight, making them easy to cut, drill, and install using standard tools. We will also number the fiberglass sheets and provide installation diagrams and instructions to reduce installation time and labour costs. Should you encounter any issues, we can arrange a video call or provide after-sales service directly in your area.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)? Can you provide samples?

Your fiberglass Sheet Manufacturing Process

Understanding the manufacturing process for fiberglass flat sheets will help you determine whether this product meets your project requirements. Below is the production process flow for fiberglass sheets (FRP panels):

Step 1: Raw Material Preparation

Before producing FRP panels, we will tailor the process to your specific requirements. The main raw materials include: glass fibre, resin, fillers and additives, and surface materials. The quality of the raw materials directly affects the strength, weather resistance, and service life of the panels. High-quality FRP panels contain at least 35% glass fibre and have a tensile strength of ≥100 MPa. They can be customised to your requirements, with a maximum tensile strength of 400 MPa.

Step 2: Resin Mixing

We will mix and stir the resin with various additives in a specific ratio. The additives mainly include curing agents, accelerators and colourants. If you require custom colours, we will adjust the colourant ratio at this stage. For example, unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin or epoxy resin, etc. Due to its excellent chemical stability, vinyl ester resin is often used in corrosion-resistant applications. The addition of catalysts and additives is precisely controlled by equipment operating under a pre-set programme; this prevents defects such as reduced curing efficiency and shortened service life caused by incorrect proportions.

Step 3: Lamination

This is one of the core processes. We use a cutter to cut the glass fibre into uniformly sized sheets, which are then laid onto the production platform. The lamination thickness is typically 1 mm to 5 mm, with a tolerance of ±0.2 mm. Rollers ensure that the glass fibre and resin are fully and evenly impregnated. Depending on your required sheet thickness, multiple layers are stacked to achieve the desired structural thickness.

Step 4: Surface Treatment

Next, a suitable gelcoat is selected for lamination according to your requirements. Multiple rollers repeatedly press the gelcoat to ensure that the uncured sheet is fully impregnated with it. We usually control the duration to approximately 3 to 7 minutes to effectively prevent delamination.

Step 5: Curing and Moulding

The unformed fiberglass sheets are conveyed into a high-temperature oven (60–120°C) via a conveyor belt, allowing the resin, fiberglass and gelcoat to fully cross-link and form a stable structure. Proper curing ensures a product lifespan of over 20 years in outdoor environments. Following high-temperature curing, fans cool the sheets to facilitate further curing, and a film is applied to the surface.

Step 6: Inspection and Packaging

Finally, the sheets are cut to customer specifications and the edges are trimmed, with a tolerance of ±0.1mm. Production is now complete, and the sheets enter the final quality inspection and packaging stage. Following quality inspection, to prevent damage during transport, the edges and corners are reinforced and wrapped with protective film.

How can you guarantee the quality of the raw materials used in your fiberglass sheets?

Our resin system consists of epoxy resin, without any other resins or phenolic resins. The glass fibre content is ≥30% to ensure high-quality products. For the gel coat, you may specify brands such as Ashland or BUFA. Additionally, we can provide you with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the raw materials.

How do you ensure consistent performance across different batches of fiberglass sheets (FRP panels)?

We employ a standardised formulation system (ERP/SOP), and our mixing equipment is fitted with an automatic metering system to eliminate or minimise human error. Mixing records for each batch are stored in the computer for easy traceability.

What production methods do you use to manufacture FRP sheets?

Compared to manual lay-up processes, we use continuous automated production lines to ensure that fiberglass sheets and FRP panels have uniform thickness, higher surface smoothness and greater consistency.

How do you ensure that fiberglass sheets and FRP panels are fully cured?

We use a multi-zone, automated temperature control system and a standardised curing time to ensure complete resin cross-linking.
